pirate party - we can change the law
today's herald has a piece on the new pirate party in sweden, a political party with just one purpose - legalizing sharing music and movies five years after release instead of 50. i see this type of approach coming, enabled by people's ability to self organize through the web fast and free around issues rather than candidates or big parties.
i am working on a project to introduce this capability in the us - derivative of my eparty idea - and will be blogging more about it soon.

This would be great, it would mean that I would want really different contracts as an artist (writer). It is also an issue with literature which enters public domain at 100 years, I believe. I would love to share music and I want to be able to eat.
